Bacon and Onion Green Beans

I absolutely love Green Beans and Southern Green Beans are my favorite. My husband, not so much. But these are the best and when he eats these he actually says they’re good, which just warms my heart. This recipe is quick, easy and budget friendly using your preferred canned green beans. Of course, once fresh green beans are in season, it’s a perfect change up to use those and adjust your cook time accordingly.

These Southern Green Beans incorporate bacon and onion for the most delicious flavors.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 14 oz Cans of Green Beans
  • 6 Regular Strips of Bacon – cubed
  • ½ Medium Onion – Finely chopped
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

Instructions
 

  • Chop Bacon strips into cubes and place in large sauce pan or skillet.

  • Cook bacon to desired doneness, I like mine crispy. Stir to keep from sticking.
  • Add finely chopped onion and stir occasionally to keep from sticking. About 2 minutes or until translucent.

  • Open cans of Green Beans and add to pan along with the liquid. Heat thoroughly.

  • Add Salt & Pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

try 1/4-1/2 tsp of Red Pepper Flakes for a bit of a kick.
