About

Welcome to Ms. Food Snob.

I love good food. Not just any good food, but really good food!

I am a Food Snob, a perfect nick name given to me by a friend after critiquing several of the hometown eateries in the small rural town I now reside in with my husband within South Central Idaho.

There are not many restaurants to choose from in our area, and not all have become a favorite , so this encourages me to cook more at home. However, I do love to visit restaurants and will share about them in my blogs along with the available menu and what I chose to indulge in.

Im thankful to have grown up in Dallas and Austin, Texas along with some years in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, and was able to have the variety of cuisines to experience. I believe this deepened my love for good affordable food and food I can make at home.

My Passion of Cooking and Great Food.

My beautiful Mom

Cooking is a passion of mine and I’ve been cooking since I was about 8 years old. My mom first started to teach me and then I got my first cookbook that showed me all the basics. My cooking took off from there, especially since my mom realized I enjoyed it. She turned me loose in the kitchen. I’ve been cooking and making recipes ever since.

As a teenager I worked in the kitchen, during the summers, along side my Great Uncle and Aunt ( L.C. and Momma Sue Hester). They were the Camp Directors at Pineywoods Baptist Camp down in Woodlake, Texas. We cooked for about 500 people on a daily basis. Then in my early adulthood with two sons, I had a limited budget, like no money kinda budget. However, I took the items I could afford and turned those into some amazing meals with flavors that could make a cardboard box taste like a gourmet meal. As my budget increased, I experimented with new food, researched recipes and watched cooking shows.

My passion increases with each new learning level I develop. I am by no means a professional chef, but I can share with you my love and passion of the foods I enjoy cooking and invite you to join along with the new recipes I’m excited to try. I have Southern Roots and that will reflect in my favorite flavors along with working at keeping limited budgets in mind.

Here you will find blogs of life as I experience it along with reviews of restaurants accompanied by recipes that are tried and try and new.

Welcome to my continued food journey.
