Carrot Cake Protein Shake

Jump to Recipe

After a morning workout, protein shakes are an excellent way to give your body what it needs to recover. Carrots, orange and spices blend together for a perfect breakfast shake. Cinnamon packs plenty of antioxidant power and blood-sugar balancing properties along with a sweet taste. This carrot cake protein shake is not “smooth” but it sure is delicious.

What’s nice about this shake, you can change out the ingredients for your personal taste. I didn’t have walnuts the first time I tested this shake, I used pecans and it was still delicious. I think the pecans made the shake a bit gritty, but I was good with that. The walnuts would be a smoother and nuttier taste and texture.

For people who cannot have cinnamon, I’d try honey in its place. Honey will give your shake the bump of sweetness to balance the carrot and orange zest. However you fix this carrot cake protein shake, it’ll be delicious.
